Pumpkin carving is always something I look forward to every year. This year I thought the boys were going to be really into it too...well not so much:( Hudson kept saying eewww, and Gavi told me after just a few minutes that I could just do it myself. They did have some fun, I just was hoping for a little more participation. LOL so I hurried and carved one and then Hudson thought it was funny and kept kissing the pumpkin and blowing out the candle. Gavin did so some carving, momma just wanted some more. Well I feel better knowing we have quite a few more years of this fun ahead of us to look forward too.
We were happy we got to visit Disneyland to see all the Halloween decorations before out passes expired. We saw the most characters we have ever seen on this visit. You would think that would be very cool, but can you believe the boys are still scared of them:) Gavin and Hudson both LOVE toy story so we all were very excited when Gavin got to participate in a Toy Story skit with the green army guys! He was also tall enough to go into the Star Wars ride with Daddy! Star Wars is his absolute favorite right now. Hudson had a ball dancing while the parade went by. He really has some moves these days. I am sure he get's them from me.
Oh, I just love this time of year! It is even more enjoyable that it truly does feel like fall this year. Most years we go to the pumpkin patch we are sweating. Not this time it was a delightful fall day. We went back to our favorite Bate's Nut Farm. Pony rides, petting zoo, and of course pumpkins. Hudson decided the pony ride was not for him, but Gavin was yelling yee haa he liked it so much. The petting zoo was a riot the boys befriended a goose, and it kept honking at them they were absolutely cracking up! I ended up with some great shots of both of them, but don't for one minute think this Momma didn't have to work for them. Gavin is finally happy for me to take his pic, but now Hudi has taken his place, and quite the snickerdoodle! Marc just stands back and laughs, I think he got some of my finer moments on video this year. Can't wait to c that:)Happy Fall!
I like to try and think of fun things Jayme and I did as kids, and do them with the boys. We liked to use my Mom's slippers or paper plates and do a little indoor ice skating:) Gavin and Hudson were so excited about their new Halloween pj's I thought this would be the perfect night to introduce carpet skating to them. It was a big hit! Wish you could of heard all the giggles. I love seeing the two of them having so much fun together. I have waited my whole life for this. These moments are precious.
The boys always have a ball when we go to the Franchina's. Their backyard is amazing, and always full of fun. This day was no different. Instead of heading to the pool Terri thought playing in the sprinkler would be fun. Leave it to Frankie to take it to a whole new level:) The buckets that started out full of toys ended up with three giggling boys!
Today was Gavin's 1st official day as a member of a team sport! Wow, this is the first of many years of fun out on the fields. I can't wait to see what his favorite will be. This is beginning soccer skills so I don't think we will have any games this go around. The coaches are awesome and I think it is going to be great. I think Gavin loves all the gear as much at getting out onto the field. The day we went shopping for everything he wore it all home and actually slept with the shin guards on! Crazy boy loves to get dressed up. He and Hudson both have had fun "going to soccer practice" in our front room. It's very cute. We look forward to hitting the fields every wed morning for the next 8 weeks.
We would like to introduce the newest member of our family, Harley. He is Gavin's new pet guinea pig. Gavi decided he wanted a new pet, so we began trying to decide what would fit into all the craziness around here. After a few trips to the pet store a guinea pig seemed like the best choice. He is just the right size, loves to be held, and eating lot's of fun things like carrots, oranges, and lettuce. The boys r in love with him! Here a a few pics of the two of them setting up the cage. It was quite a histerical process. A big thank you to Grandma and Grandpa for the b-day money that helped Gavi get Harley:)
